Getting Started with NautilusCD
The NautilusCD Magazine will run directly from the CD ROM; however, you
must run the Setup application to install Startup and other necessary files
to your hard drive. This procedure will create a NautilusCD directory on
your system including the NautilusCD Startup and other applications. Note
you do not have to reinstall with each monthly NautilusCD disc; we will
alert you to upgrades as needed.
Installing NautilusCD
1. Insert the NautilusCD disc into your CD ROM drive.
2. From Windows 3.1 (or later), install NautilusCD to your hard drive:
- Using Program Manager, choose the RUN command from the File menu.
- Enter <D>:\SETUP (replacing <D> with the letter of your CD ROM drive).
3. Then follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
Running NautilusCD
1. Be sure the disc is in the CD ROM drive.
2. From Program Manager, double click NautilusCD Startup.
3. Select the NautilusCD Magazine image displayed on the left of the
Startup window to open the magazine. If a magazine image is not visible,
select Preferences from the Tools Palette on the right and enter the
letter of your CD ROM drive.
Using NautilusCD
Open the NautilusCD Magazine. On the cover you'll find a video message from
the NautilusCD Team. Then from the next page--the Table of Contents--you
can select any of the five departments or two services of NautilusCD
Magazine, or preview the feature.

Staying in Touch
We strongly encourage you to get in touch with us and help us make
NautilusCD the product that meets your needs for multimedia information.
There are a number of ways you can reach us:
- LINK* your message electronically using the NautilusCD Communications
Link facility (on each disc) and your modem.
NOTE: We have updated the functionality of the Link beginning with the
October 1993 issue. As a result, 95% of our subscribers worldwide now
have local access to the NautilusCD Host, plus improved Link communication.
If you find you do not have local access, check future NautilusCD discs;
we will update the access phone numbers monthly. Our aim is to continually
improve NautilusCD and make its features convenient for all subscribers.
From the NautilusCD Tools Palette click on the "Memo" option, or select
the "Memo" option from the Tools menu and type your comments. See "Help"
in the Tools Palette or "Connect with NautilusCD" in the Subscriber Guide
department of the magazine for complete details on how to access NautilusCD
Link, create messages, and upload them to us.

*Note: Although you can Link messages to us without an SI (and even if

Identification number (SI) whenever you contact us. Your SI is much like
an account number password -- it is a unique identifier that ensures your
confidentiality. Because the SI is confidential, we provide it only through

If you should lose your SI, simply contact Nautilus Customer Service, and
we will be happy to mail it to you again.
